Green Book is an upcoming comedy drama directed by Peter Ferrelly (There’s Something About Mary, Fever Pitch). Based on the true story of Jamaican-American pianist Don Shirley (played by Academy Award Winner Mahershala Ali) and bouncer Tony Lip (played by Academy Award Nominee Viggo Mortensen), Green Books follows the pair as they tour the Deep South in the 1960s with Lip as Shirley’s driver and security. Thei pair forge a close friendship during the tour, navigating the deep racism of the region together. The score to Green Book was composed by pianist and musical maverick Kris Bowers (Dear White People). A collaborator of everyone from Kanye West to A Tribe Called Quest, Bowers has crafted a beautiful score for Green Book thick with jazz-inspiration and moving piano compositions that have called out as a highlight of the film.
